Bible Study Jan. Week 4

Strong And Courageous

SCRIPTURE

DEUTERONOMY 31:1–8

BACKGROUND & CONTEXT

The forty years of wandering through the wilderness had ended. The faithless generation had faced their punishment and died off (Num.14), leaving only Caleb, Joshua, and Moses. But, as he was 120 years old and told that he would see but not enter the Promised Land (Deut. 32:52), Moses prepared his successor, Joshua. Taking over for Moses would cause any leader to have some doubts, so Moses' encouragement was, "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear..." (Deut. 31:6).

Maybe it’s through something you have read, a situation at school or home, or something someone has said to you.

Write these moments down and put them somewhere you can return to when you feel overwhelmed.
