Remembrance Ranch Code of Conduct & Liability Waiver

THIS FORM MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO  PERFORMING ANY VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES FOR REMEMBRANCE RANCH.


1. Code of Conduct & Substance-Free Workplace Acknowledgement

I acknowledge that Remembrance Ranch maintains a zero-tolerance policy for illegal drugs, controlled substances, marijuana, and alcohol while on duty, on Remembrance Ranch property, in Remembrance Ranch vehicles, or while attending any camp or program-related event.

I understand that:

  • Reporting to duty or remaining on duty while impaired is prohibited

  • Possession, use, distribution, or being under the influence of prohibited substances is grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including immediate dismissal

  • Prescription medications (excluding marijuana) are permitted only when taken as prescribed and when they do not impair my ability to safely perform my duties

  • I am required to notify leadership if a prescribed medication may impair performance

I understand I have a duty to immediately report any observed or suspected substance use or possession by a camper, guest, volunteer, or staff member to Remembrance Ranch leadership.

I acknowledge that refusal to comply with required testing, when permitted by law, may be treated as a policy violation.

2. Harassment-Free Workplace Acknowledgement

I acknowledge that Remembrance Ranch maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, including but not limited to sexual, racial, religious, disability-based, or personal harassment.

I understand that verbal or physical conduct that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment is prohibited and may result in immediate dismissal.

3.VOLUNTEER / STAFF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: HARASSMENT POLICY

I acknowledge receipt of the Remembrance Ranch Staff & Volunteer Manual and understand that it contains policies governing conduct, safety, housing, substance use, and harassment.

I understand that:

  • These policies apply to me as a condition of my employment or volunteer service

  • My employment or volunteer service is at-will

  • Nothing in the manual creates a contract or guarantee of continued service

4. Volunteer Status, Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability

I acknowledge that if I am serving as a volunteer, I am not an employee of Remembrance Ranch and am not entitled to employee benefits, including workers’ compensation or accident insurance.

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation, including but not limited to:

  • Physical labor

  • Environmental exposure

  • Use of tools or equipment

  • Outdoor activities

  • Travel and transportation

I hereby release and hold harmless Remembrance Ranch, its officers, employees, and volunteers from any claims arising from my participation, including injury, illness, property loss, or death, except where prohibited by law.

5. Medical Care & Media Release

I authorize Remembrance Ranch to provide or obtain emergency medical care if necessary and release Remembrance Ranch from liability related to such care.

I grant permission for photographs or video recordings taken during my service to be used by Remembrance Ranch for promotional or educational purposes without compensation.

6. Minor Volunteers (if applicable)

I understand that individuals under 18 may only volunteer with written parental or legal guardian consent.
