Boys WAR – Hitting the Trail

Today marked a big transition for the boys of WAR camp—it was their final morning at CranHill Ranch. After one last hearty breakfast and heartfelt goodbyes to new friends, the boys packed up and prepared for the next part of their journey: the Manistee River Trail.

Each teen was given a backpack, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and a tent, then split into trail teams for accountability and support. These teams will not only hike together but also share responsibilities like cooking meals and encouraging one another along the way. The morning was filled with lessons in packing, fitting backpacks, and preparing mentally for the physical challenge ahead.

With sack lunches in hand and a mix of nerves and excitement in their hearts, the boys loaded into the van and headed north. After a quick group photo at the trailhead, they hit the path. Just a quarter mile in, those nervous smiles hadn’t faded—but neither had their determination. Their goal: make it to the end, drop their bags, and enjoy some well-earned rest and connection.

The journey has officially begun. Keep these boys in your prayers as they walk, grow, and push through—together.
