FAMILY ADVOCATE
Position Description:
Mentor young men or women. Strengthen a family. Make a lasting impact.
Remembrance Ranch is seeking Christian women & men to serve as part-time, paid Family Advocates. Family Advocates walk alongside teens and their families during the 12 months following summer camp, providing consistent mentoring, encouragement, accountability, and Christ-centered support.
Status: Part-time, paid
Time Commitment: Approximately 10–20 hours
Reports to: Program Manager
What You’ll Do
- Build a consistent mentoring relationship with assigned teens and families
- Conduct monthly visits with teens at school and in the home
- Help teens and families work toward their established goals
- Maintain communication with families, schools, and program staff
- Document visits and family communication within 48 hours
- Attend required meetings, training, Bible studies, and teen events
- Assist with teen assessments and program activities as needed
- Respond appropriately to safety concerns as a mandated reporter
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for dependable Christian women & men who:
- Are at least 21 years old
- Have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Enjoy working with teens and families
- Communicate well and follow through on commitments
- Are patient, teachable, trustworthy, and professional
- Have a valid driver’s license and basic computer skills
- Can maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality
- Are willing to complete required training and background screening
Experience in mentoring, ministry, education, social work, counseling, or youth programs is helpful—but a willing heart, strong character, and commitment to teens are essential.
Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:
- Michigan State Police ICHAT background check
- Central Registry/MI-LEAP abuse and neglect clearance
- Required Remembrance Ranch training
