Wow! What a day today has been!!! The boys (and men) started today a smidge tired with only a few hours sleep but it did not stop from a powerful and moving day!
After breakfast Patrick spent some time with the boys talking about the Bible, they learned about the Word of God and how God talks to us. Patrick then shared some scriptures but more importantly his testimony and we saw the boys eyes focus in and connect!
The group them worked on some more team building and while yesterday we saw frustration and discomfort today we saw a group work together and some quieter voices step up as leaders and help the group work together. We spent time on a “trolley” and the crew worked together toward one final goal, triumphing over struggles and set backs and facing failures together.
The boys also worked on their first solo time and reflection engaging in a passing of the “I can’ts”! “I can’t concentrate; I can’t turn in my homework; I can’t do good and sin at the same time.”
Finally after extensive packing and planning for a long journey that begins tomorrow we hiked to their cabins and listen to Kevin’s testimony. After Kevin shared tonight one boy just starting writing away in his journal then stood up and threw the page in the fire. Kevin and I both looked up at him and asked ..”did you just throw that in?” He responded with “yeah it’s some things I need to get rid of.” And walked to bed…such power at work here!!!
So as I lay down and do my devotionals before bed I read Romans 8:26 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” And hear Kevin’s words echo in my head “life is not a coincidence”
Amazed by his Grace and Glory each day!!!

AR: I hope you are enjoying your time at camp. In life, sometimes there are storms, and sometimes there is sunshine. But through all of the seasons of life, God is with you. Whether you are rejoicing or fighting back tears, God wants to share the moment with you. Allow that to happen, give thanks in the good times, ask for help in the difficult times. No one is perfect, only GOD is therefore we all make mistakes.
Take pat and Kevin’s testimonies and let that be an example to you that God can bring you out of darkness. I am continuing to pray for you!
