What A Trip!

So, we pushed our way through the hills, rocks and trees only to find more hills, rocks and trees. You can imagine the frustration on the faces of seven teen boys when it sunk in that we were actually hiking and living in the woods for four days. It was incredibly beautiful and the water time was a blast for everyone, yet I could not help but sense the frustration of physical exhaustion and being home sick. We had some serious solo-time for everyone to sit and go over scripture and think about life. When you are surrounded by nothing but blowing treetops and moving water it is hard to ignore the voice of God whispering in your ear. Thank God that many, if not all, at least heard that voice, and four responded with the answer… I’m ready Lord, save my life!

Yeah God! I can’t tell you how proud I am of these guys. While we see that they have a long way to go, we know that there are walls that have been crumbling down every day. During one of our co-ops called the spider web we had the boys very frustrated and actually storming away in anger. Now here’s the good part. All of the other boys came to the rescue and encourage the couple who walked away to rejoin the team, and it worked! These guys are really learning the value of communication and leadership.
During our last day today we had some real breakthrough.  Two of the boys were being very defiant and had to take some serious time-outs. But through all the anger we were able to get them through what we call a breaking point. For something to be fixed it first has to be broken. And that is the same thing with these boys. We need to be in prayer for all of these boys that they will be safe and also open during these times of brokenness. This is what we have been working so hard for, seven broken boys who can be molded and encouraged and four boys who will now spend eternity with us. Thank you God for being our healer when we all become broken

Congratulations boys – you made it back to the base camp 🙂 I can’t imagine how tired your bodies are, but the great thing is that you will bounce back quickly. For the boys that accepted Christ – congratulations! I have been praying for you and I encourage each of you to stay in the Word of God because that is the only way that you will grow. Although you have Christ in your hearts, you have to feed yourself with God’s word to continue to change for the better! John 15:3-4 “You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” I am so excited that God has big plans for you and now you get to take an active part in it!!!
To SQ, I have been praying for you and thinking a lot about you. I just want you to know that you are loved, regardless of whether or not I have met you, you are loved. You have a heavenly father who loves you more than you can imagine! His love is unconditional, everlasting and pursuant! My prayer for you is that you can let down any walls that are still holding you back and learn to trust the people around you.
Have a great day tomorrow enjoying God’s creation!
