Passion & Purpose

We are beginning to make some serious progress with the boys! The first 2 days offered many challenges, however, walls are beginning to come down and our leaders are starting to have some great conversations with the teens. While all the leaders have been intentional to spend time talking 1-on-1 with the boys, Darrin has challenged each of the boys to come up with 1 goal.  This goal will follow them to their school and our in-home case manager, Dan, will follow up.

4 of the boys have come down with a cold; stuffy nose and sore throats.  Please be in prayer for health and that it won’t spread any more. DayQuil seems to be helping for now.  Also pray the enemy isn’t able to use this as a distraction.

The horses offered a challenge today as the boys learned how to trot! It was scary for some of them but by the end of our training time, every one of them were able to trot across the arena with ease.  They are becoming more and more comfortable with their horses.  The boys had fun bathing and feeding their horses and were even able to watch the Ferrier re-shoe a few horses…

We had 2 guest speakers today! Our first was Jalen Oliver.  Jalen stopped out to talk to the boys about his passion for Jesus and for skateboarding! He also taught the boys about confidence and trust by jumping his skateboard over them.  As a young entrepreneur, he introduced his skateboard hardware business.

The second speaker was Pastor Randy Don. Pastor Randy spoke to the boys about Passion and Purpose! Through his testimony and his energy, by the end of his time, the boys were energized and ready to go change the world!

It was fun to see the boys learning from each other as we hit the archery range! The team celebrated together as they congratulated Jordan for hitting an apple with an arrow from 20 yards!

As for today, please be in prayer for team unity! More positive energy needed in general.  Also, pray for the leaders to find the right words to speak into the lives of these teens and for softened hearts.

We are praying that God continues to give you leaders strength, health, and words for the boys. You are God’s chosen to share the good news and help these boys to overcome and win the battle. I pray that you use every piece of God’s armor the sturdy belt of truth, body armor of God’s righteousness, shoes for peace, faith as your shield and salvation as your helmet and pray all times in the power of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 13-18.
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right and his ears are open to their prayers. Amen.
